Welcome

Welcome to my traveling India and Nepal blog. I'll be using this to periodically update whoever wants to know about my 3 month adventure in the Indian subcontinent. I have only booked 3 nights at a hostel in Delhi, after that I have some places in mind but I'll just be going where the wind takes me (or more literally where the trains take me, but still). So here is my highly approximate and bound to change itinerary:

  • 8/30 : Depart SFO
  • 9/1 : Arrive in Delhi, after flights totaling 26 hours, a fuel stop in Seoul and a layover in Singapore
  • 9/1-9/4 : Delhi
  • 9/4-9/30: At least some of the following, in an order probably different from what I show: Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jaipur, Agra, Kanpur, Varanasi
  • 10/1: Varanasi to Pokhara, Nepal
  • 3 days whitewater rafting
  • 14 days trekking the Annapurna Sanctuary to Annapurna I base camp
  • 2 days in Pokhara
  • 1 week in Kathmandu
  • 11/1: Fly to Southern India
  • 11/1-11/23: Kerala, up the Western coast to Goa, Hampi, Mumbai, Delhi
  • 11/24: Depart Delhi
  • 11/25: Arrive at SFO, just in time for Thanksgiving

  2. I've never been to India; this will be exciting!

(BTW, John, that's me hiding under a recycled David hat newly decorated by your mom for my b/day which I wore strolling down Laurel gathering clues and goodies at various shops along the way. A treasure hunt and a surprise party in the park at the end! It was GREAT FUN!! Not as much fun as traveling, though.)
